Ringtone Download FAQs
Are there any charges for downloading my ringtone?
Your carrier might be charging you for the Text, MMS, PIX or data usage needed for us to get the ringtone to you.
I already downloaded the ringtone. Can I re-download it?

Yes, you can re-download the same piece of content to the same phone / phone number combination again. Just go through the process again.

Also, carrier charges still do apply, so if you are downloading via Wap Push, you might be charged for the SMS message or the data usage to download the ringtone. If you are on Verizon, you may be charged for the PIX messages needed to redeliver the ringtone to you.

I received a message, but I can't find the ringtone in my inbox, what do I do?

On a Verizon device, the text message may contain the tone. Open that message, and click the "Options" menu to save the ringtone.

On certain AT&T Nokia devices, you will find the ringtone message by going into Media Net (web browser). Then go to the Options >> Other Options >> Service Inbox. You can download them from there.

On certain AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint Motorola devices, you will need to go into the Messaging Menu and scroll down to Browser Messages to access the content.

What do I need in order to download the ringtone?

Verizon Wireless customers: You will need an MMS capable phone with MMS service enabled.

AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile customers: You will need data services on your phone to be able to receive WAP Push messages that will load a WAP site, where you will download your ringtone.

If you are not sure if you have these services please check with your carrier.

I haven't received any messages or my download. What's wrong?

Verizon Wireless customers: You may not have a phone that supports MMS or you may not have the MMS service turned on. Please contact your carrier to confirm.

AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile customers: Please make sure that WAP Push is enabled on your cell phone. Depending on the manufacturer of your phone, you may need to set the WAP Push setting to "On", "Allow all", "Always", or "Receive all".

I have received a message, but don't know what to do with it. How do I get my content?

Verizon Wireless customers: The message you receive will contain the content within the message. You can then save it and set it as your default ringtone from the Tones area of your phone.

AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile customers: You will receive a message with a WAP URL address in it. Depending on your phone model, you will either select "Go", "Go To URL", "Open", or something similar to load a WAP page that will download the ringtone.

I can't figure out how to save my ringtone on my Blackberry. What should I do?

We've noticed that occasionally the "Save Image" option is disabled on some Blackberry devices. The reason for this, is that the url that is delivered to you is opened in a Wap browser that may be branded by your carrier (AT&T, Sprint, etc) and they have removed the ability to save images.

There is a way around this. Find the message that has the link to the download and copy it to your clipboard. Then find the "Internet Browser" application. When it starts up, it should show the Blackberry logo, not the carrier logo. Once the application starts up, paste the link you copied into it. With this browser, you should be able to save the download without problems.

I never get the ringtone delivered to my iPhone. What's up?

The Apple iPhone doesn't support Wap Push, which is how we deliver our content. The iPhone doesn't support downloadable content in general.

AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile customers: You will need data services on your phone to be able to receive WAP Push messages that will load a WAP site, where you will download your ringtone.

PC to Mobile Phone

Bluetooth Wireless Link

Bluetooth is another way of wireless transfer between your mobile phone and your PC. Most new cellular phones have Bluetooth capabilities as most wireless headsets for cellular phones use Bluetooth for connectivity. If you are using a fairly new laptop, it will most likely have built-in Bluetooth transceiver whereas many desktop PC's may not have Bluetooth. You can add Bluetooth by getting a USB version if you want your older laptop or desktop computer to have this capability - it might come in handy for general file transfer between your computer and your mobile device in the future. Once you set up a Bluetooth connection between your mobile phone and your computer, you will need to download the ringtone to your PC first. Then, you can transfer the ringtone to your mobile phone using the Bluetooth connection between your PC and your mobile phone. Your mobile device will often show up as "Bluetooth places" on your desktop once you have installed the USB - make sure you set your device to "Discoverable" and pair it with your computer in order to transfer files.

Infrared (IR) Wireless Link

Infrared is another option for wireless data transfer though it is bit on the slow side. You will need to have infrared connectivity on both your cellular phone and your PC/laptop for this to work.

First check if your laptop has a built-in infra-red port or your PC has an infra-red port adaptor. Then check the manual of your cellular phone to see if it has infra-red port. Many older cellular phones have a built in infrared port before Bluetooth took off.

Follow the instructions in your manuals to establish a link between your cellular phone and your computer and use this method to download the ringtones to your cellular phone. The process is practically the same as the Bluetooth method where you download the ringtone to your computer first then transfer it to your cellular phone.

Data Cable

Some mobile phones and most PDA type phones come with or have the option of getting some kind of data transfer cable to connect with a PC via USB. PDA type mobile phones generally use a docking station solution, whereas regular cell phones have an optional cable that can connect to the bottom of your mobile phone.

This method of data transfer is generally pretty straight forward if you follow the instructions in your manual. Once a link has been established with the software supplied by the connection cable or PDA docking station, you can simply download the ringtones to your PC then transfer the ringtones from your computer to the mobile phone.

Please refer to your cell phone manufacturer's instructions for exact details on how to transfer files as each model of mobile phones has its own method. Once the link is established, it's usually very simple, using the software supplied with the cell phone (or connection cable) to transfer files/ringtones from your PC to the cell phone. Once the ringtone is transferred to the cell phone, use it as you would any normal ringtone or alert sound.
