Frequently Asked Questions

  • Get answers to frequently asked questions about the Bounce Dryer Bar.

Is it safe for my dryer?

Yes, the Dryer Bar has been tested to show that it’s safe for both HE and regular household dryers.

How does it work?

The Dryer Bar works much like your sheets. In the dryer, heat plus the tumbling movement of your clothes allow the transfer of fabric softener. Over time, you’ll notice the bar beginning to wear away, like a bar of soap. That means it’s working!

How do I install it?

To start, choose a smooth surface on your dryer drum. Make sure the bar is parallel to the dryer fins. Then, expose the adhesive backing and press firmly to the dryer drum for several seconds to secure.

How do I refill it?

You’ll know it’s time to insert a new Dryer Bar when the word “Replace” appears on your old one. Simply pull back the tabs on either side of the holder, and the old bar should slide right out. Then simply snap the new bar in place.

Could it fall apart in my dryer?

It shouldn’t. When installed properly, the adhesive will remain stuck to the dryer drum until removed, thus locking the bar safely in place. If the Bounce Dryer Bar becomes detached and breaks apart in the dryer, simple retrieve the pieces from the drum and lint screen. The broken bar will need to be replaced with a fresh bar.

Will it stain clothes?

All fabric enhancer products have the risk of staining to some degree and the Bounce Dryer Bar is no different. However, the Dryer Bar shouldn’t stain your clothes. Even if you leave clothes overnight in the dryer or leave them sitting directly on top of the bar, your fabrics should still be safe from staining. Your risk of staining increases if you use an unusually high temperature setting or do an overstuffed load. In general, you never want to overstuff your dryer, as this will minimize drying and cause wrinkles.

Will it snag on clothes?

Generally, the bar should not snag on clothes. Our R&D team has dried thousands of loads of laundry with the bar, and they have rarely seen this issue. When it did happen, it was with old, frayed articles of clothing that simply wound up against the holder. Nothing serious.

Can I re-stick the bar somewhere else?

No, the adhesive is not made for more than one application. Once the adhesive is removed from the dryer drum it can not be reused.

Is lint on the Dryer Bar OK?

Over time, lint will naturally build-up on the Dryer Bar. Don’t worry, lint won’t cause harm to your laundry or to the effectiveness of the bar. It’s not recommended that you remove the lint.

Can I remove the Dryer Bar holder?

If for some reason you decide to remove the Dryer Bar holder, you can do so in just 3 easy steps:

  1. Turn your empty dryer on the High/Cotton setting for 5 minutes to soften the adhesive.
  2. Wait several minutes for the dryer drum to cool, then use a plastic spatula to gently pry the holder off. Do not use anything metal, as metal can scratch the dryer drum surface.
  3. Use the spatula to rub off any excess residue. You can also use a wet dishtowel with some mild soap like Dawn® Dish Detergent.
